FOSTER CARE PEOPLE - they are needed desperately so we can care
for the adoptable animals until homes are found for them. NOTE:
we supply all food and supplies and medical care for the animals. There are
certain requirements to be a foster person, and these requirements must be
met: (1) you must be willing to give the time and attention needed to make
the animal family ready [walking the dog at
least every other day, socializing the dog and getting it used to other
dogs, cats, people] (2) the dog must be fed and have fresh water daily,
and the kennel has to be cleaned at least every two days (3) you will need
to screen prospective owners carefully and insist that they bring any dog
they presently own and/or children in the family when they come to see the
foster animal [this enables us to see if the family and the foster animal
will be compatible] (4) MOST IMPORTANT - you must be in this for the long
haul, as we keep our foster animals until they are adopted. They are
not taken to shelters or given to someone just to get rid of them.
These foster animals are a big responsibility, and they can be a lot
of work - but the satisfaction of knowing that one has gone to a good home
is the best reward we can possibly have. All of this is not meant to
scare people off, but we want to make sure that our foster homes are the
best places for these dogs and pups until they have a home of their
own. Please call 435-574-2220 if you are interested in being a
foster person or if you want more information about what is involved in this
very important part of our program.

VOLUNTEER!!!! If you cannot foster a dog, cat or other animal, there is always a need for volunteers in other areas. You can come and socialize the cats and kittens in the cattery or do some cleaning there and we always need volunteers who will work with the foster dogs. We take them out every morning to the exercise pen for fun, play and some training - also brushing and socializing. You can call 435-574-2220 if you would like to help with hands-on work with the animals. |
