ADOPTABLES FROM ANGELS FOR ANIMALS

THESE ANIMALS NEED FURR-EVER HOMES!!!

We rescue adoptable animals from the local shelters and also receive some from owners who can no longer, for good reasons, keep them.  We do NOT send the foster animals to shelters, but keep them until they are adopted.  We want to meet the adopters and know where the animals will live. It is our responsibility to care for and find good homes for these animals.   The pups and kittens receive necessary vaccinations  and the animals are spayed or neutered.  The animals are kept in foster care for approximately one week so we can get a pretty good idea of the animal's personality and good and bad habits. During this week we work with the dogs and pups to see how they react to a collar and lead, bring them in the house and get the pups started on a housebreaking routine, and socialize them with other people and animals.  After the week is up, the animal's picture and description are put on the web site.  We hope this helps match the animal with a good new home and family.  Adoption fees include spay/neuter and any necessary vaccinations for the dogs, and first shots for the cats and kittens.  Adoption fees for the cats and dogs are never over $200 (due to rising costs for medical care, transportation, etc., we are forced to raise our adoption fees).  These adoptables are also eligible for one month free health insurance through Petfinder.com

PLEASE NOTE:  WE ARE LOCATED IN WASHINGTON COUNTY IN THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF UTAH

If any of the dogs are not already spayed or neutered, we will take them to  Best Friends Animal Sanctuary  to have it done.   Please have your pet spayed or neutered - there are too many pups and kittens in the shelters and not enough homes for them.

Do you like BIG dogs?  If so, then Charlie might just be what you are looking for.  He came from a local shelter and he is a winner - already neutered and is so housebroken that we have to take him out to the exercise pen several times a day.  Charlie is about two years old and has had little training, but he is very intelligent and we are working with him on leash and teaching basic commands.  He has the coat and coloring of an Australian shepherd with the long, feathered tail of who-knows-what - possibly a golden retriever type dog.  He does require regular brushing and he enjoys that tremendously.  Charlie's adoption fee is $40 and you will have a great dog for your family or a buddy to go hiking and other outdoor activities.

Penny came from a local shelter and she was a stray - we were glad to take her as she is a loving, active and sweet dog.  She is about 8-9 months old and such a go-getter - runs around the exercise pen at full speed.  Very smart little girl, too, and is learning to walk on a leash properly and will sit on command.  Penny has a short coat and is about the height of a border collie.  She will probably weigh around 45 pounds when she is full grown.  Her ears are one of the most memorable features - they go up and then over, as you can see in this picture.  Penny will be a great family dog and is what we call an "easy keeper" - very low maintenance if she gets enough exercise.  So she needs an active owner or family.  Her adoption fee is $40 and includes the spay and rabies vaccination.

"Let go - I want to run and play!"  This beautiful boxer (looks to be a purebred) was a stray in a city nearby and was brought to our foster care.  Her name is Bebe and she is a really nice dog.  She is completely housebroken and the vet said she is spayed, so all she needs is a current rabies vaccination - to be done by the adopter.  Bebe loves to run and play in the exercise pen and then come over for petting and love.  She is not a barker, but loves to dig up small rocks and play with them.  She is not aggressive to other dogs and runs right past the other kennels with no problem on her way to the exercise pen.  She does know some commands such as "sit" but will need further training.  We want to find just the absolutely right home for this beautiful girl where she will have the love and attention she needs.  Her adoption fee is $50.

Here are some of the adult cats available for adoption and they are all wonderful animals.  The adoption fee is $20 for each cat and includes the spay or neuter and shots.

We have the King of the Cattery!!!  Leo was dumped at the foster care facility and he became so tame that we were able to take him for neuter and shots.  He is a LARGE cat and so very, very sweet and loving.  He is exceptionally good with the kittens in the cattery and they rub against him and sleep by him.  Leo is about 2-3 years old, has a longer coat and  loves to be brushed.  This is one wonderful cat.  His adoption fee is $20 and you can't go wrong with Leo.

Morrie is a gorgeous long haired male who is neutered, has his vaccinations and such a lover.  He enjoys being on someone's lap and also loves it when he is brushed.  Very nice temperament and also gets along well with other cats.  He is an indoor/outdoor cat but would prefer being more of an indoor cat.  He keeps himself very well groomed, so some brushing once a week is all that is needed.  Morrie is about two years old and will be a wonderful companion cat.

Here we have the newest of our great cats and Marley is his name.  He is a dark smoky tabby with the beautiful gray under the dark top coat.  Marley is neutered, has had his shots and is a super cat.  He is an indoor cat.  His adoption fee is $20.  Marley will be a wonderful addition to a family.

This is Kit and he is a special needs cat - but don't tell him that because he gets along just fine!  Kit was brought to us with the stump of his left back leg and every time he jumped or ran, it hit the ground and was painful and bled.  When we took him to the vet to have him neutered and have his shots, the decision was made to amputate the stump.  He got along so well and now he has no problem getting around - especially when he wants on someone's lap!  He likes other cats, is not afraid of dogs and is super-affectionate.  Kit is an indoor/outdoor cat and we want to find a good home for him.  He is very handsome and has a beautiful coat - needs some brushing from time to time.  His adoption fee is $20.

What a hoot!  We named this little guy Ray, since he is such a little ray of sunshine.  Always happy and ready to play and run and then have some loving and petting.  Ray was dumped outside a small town and the finders could not locate his owner or find a good home for him, so we took him into foster care and are sure glad we did.  He is a heeler - possibly with some little something else mixed in - and loves everyoneVery intelligent and will be easy to train.  Ray is probably about six months old, in excellent health, has been wormed and will be neutered and have his rabies vaccination on 23 May.  This little guy stands 18 inches at the shoulder and will probably not grow more than an inch in height, if that.  Great dog for an active family and will be terrific with older children.  His adoption fee is $35 and you can't go wrong with Ray.

Missy is our shy girl and she needs a calm, quieter home - so no children.  She takes her time in making friends and then when she decides you are okay, she is very affectionate.  Missy is a flamepoint Siamese about two years old.  Of course she is spayed, has her shots and is litter box trained.  She is not too crazy about other cats, so we would like to find a home where she will be the only cat.  Beautiful girl and very sweet.  Her adoption fee is $20.

Another newbie and she is a real love.  Dominique reminds us so much of Tux, but is larger.  She is a wire-haired terrier/lab mix with the best of both breeds.  She was not getting the attention and time she needs and the training, so the owner released her to us.  Dominique is one of the most affectionate and sweet dogs we have had and wants to please, so she will be easily trained.  We are working with her on leash training - she is doing well with that - and also basic obedience.  Both Dominique and Ray have never learned to play, so we are tossing the balls and toys and both are inquisitive and seem to want to know just why we are doing that!  Dominique is healthy and happy and will be spayed and have her rabies vaccination on 23 May.  Her adoption fee is $35 and you will have a wonderful family dog.

When we first got Bozo in foster care, he was very afraid of strangers and did not want to come out of his dog house.  After a few days, he decided that we were okay and now he can't wait to go to the exercise pen and play and run and get his petting and attention.  Bozo is a little over a year old and he is now one of the friendliest and most loving dogs you will ever see.  This is the type of dog that is one of the best for a family - he is a boxer mix and not too large, weighing about 60 poundsAs you can see by the bottom picture, he is a very happy dog now.  He is learning to play and will chase a ball or toy and will sometimes even bring it back to you!  Bozo is neutered and has had his shots, so he is ready for a good home with kids and lots of activity.  He is also housebroken, and will not mess in his kennel.  Great dog for a family, and he is one of the favorites in foster care.  His adoption fee is $30 and you will have a wonderful friend and companion.

Molly was adopted when she was a pup but the family did not take the time or make an effort to train her while she was young, so she came back to foster care.  Everyone needs to realize that a pup or dog does not learn by osmosis nor can they read a training book - so the training needs to be done as soon as possible, beginning at about two months of age.  Molly is now about a year and a half old and is such a good dog and very intelligent - also very affectionate and loyal.  She will sit on command and walks well on a lead.  Molly gets along with other dogs and plays with Hiway in the exercise pen.  She is, of course, spayed and has had her vaccinations.  Molly is a Rottweiler/lab mix and is the height of a lab but with the heavier body of a Rottie - she probably weighs around 80 poundsThis dog is very intimidating to people, but there isn't a mean bone in her body.  She would be a great dog for a single mother with children, as she loves children and would be very protective without being aggressive.  We all love Molly and hope for a good home for her.  Her adoption fee is $30.

Couldn't resist putting all the pictures on the site - these two nine week old  pups are absolutely the most fun!  They were the last of a litter of five and the owners found homes for the three girls.  Most people will choose a female because they think males will mark their territory, but if you have a male neutered early enough that is not true in most cases.  We have the male pups, as well as the females, fixed as soon as possible when they are over four months of age - then they can have their rabies vaccination at the same time.  The mother of these pups is an Australian shepherd and she is very small.  No idea of the breed of the father (possibly Corgi), but these pups will not be large dogs - possibly not even medium sized when full grown.

The top picture is of Tanker and he is a little smaller than Trucker, who is in the bottom picture.  They have had the first of their puppy shots and are healthy and happy little pups.  They came to us on 6 April and had their first outing in the big exercise pen on the next day.  They had so much fun running around and of course they found the shallow water bowl and ended up with both front feet in it - then came over to share the mud!

You can see the size in the third picture where Tanker is next to a soccer ball.  They have short coats and will be easily taken care of as far as grooming goes.  It is said that one should laugh out loud regularly for good mental health, and these two sure make us laugh - never a dull moment with them.

The adoption fee for each one is $35 and includes the neuter and rabies vaccination when they are over four months of age.  They will be great family dogs.
